Build the thing first: how we think about talent at Anaxee
Anaxee uses AI every single day. So it raised eyebrows when our founder stood in front of a room of MBA students in Indore and told them to stay away from it — for now. Here is what he meant, and why it is the clearest window into how we think about the people we hire.
The accelerator only works if there is something to accelerate
Govind Agrawal, who built Anaxee, belongs to the generation that learned before any of this existed — no model to write the assignment, fix the spelling, or do the math. So when he uses AI today, it sits on a foundation that is already there; it speeds up a mind that already knows how to think. His worry about people who are 21 right now: they are pouring AI into a foundation that is still being poured. The output looks great from outside — clean, polished — but it is rented. The day the tool is not there, neither is the ability. His ask to the students was blunt: learn how to learn, do the math by hand, and use AI as an accelerator, never a substitute.
Build the thing first.
Why that matters if you work here
AI is everywhere in what we do — reading a photo from the field, cleaning messy data, flagging a visit that never happened. But it amplifies judgment; it does not hand it to you. We would rather have someone who understands why a dataset is wrong than someone who can only ask a model to summarise it. The people who do well at Anaxee built the foundation first, and now use the tools to go faster.
The same principle runs the whole company
Govind tells a story about an old energy study from Rajkot: 110 small foundries, crores saved every year, thousands of tonnes of CO2 avoided — and nearly a quarter of the fixes cost nothing at all. The owners simply did not know. But knowing was not enough either. The change happened only because someone set up inside the cluster and kept going back until the work was actually done. That is the part most programs skip: you approve a budget, you get a report, and nobody returns to see what really happened on the ground. Anaxee exists for exactly that gap. Our Digital Runners live in the 540+ districts they work in. They go, they verify, they report what is actually there. Showing up is the whole job.
So who are we looking for?
Builders, not posers. People who want to understand the thing before they automate it, who would rather be right about the ground truth than fast with a polished summary, and who are willing to actually go and see. If that is you, there is a lot to build here.
